About CORI

As a dedicated resident of the beaches, I have proudly called Neptune Beach my home since 2015, alongside my husband Dan, our sons, Daniel, Michael, and Talon, and our beloved dog, Pumpkin. Our roots run deep, and our commitment to this community is unwavering. My extensive education in public administration has equipped me with the knowledge and skills essential for effective governance, uniquely positioning me to serve as the mayor of Neptune Beach with a strategic and informed approach to community leadership. Sincerity and integrity are guiding principles in both my personal and professional life, shaping my interactions with neighbors and fellow community members.

In 2019, my parents joined us in Neptune Beach, bringing with them a wealth of life experiences, including my father’s service in the Navy stationed at Mayport. His commitment to duty has instilled in us a deep sense of patriotism and dedication to service. Our home, nestled under the shady oaks in Indian Woods, reflects the essence of our cherished paradise.

I understand the importance of preserving the unique character of Neptune Beach, and I am dedicated to fostering a community where education thrives, sincerity prevails, and integrity is upheld. Together, let’s ensure a future that embraces these values and safeguards the beauty of our beloved beaches for generations to come.

“As your mayor, I will not only listen to you, but I will also stand up for you.”

Mission

Securing Our Future.

Securing Our Future

The City of Neptune Beach is our home. In order to protect our city, we need financial security. Neptune Beach needs to collect what we are owed under our current agreement with Duval County and the City of Jacksonville. As much as possible, we need to keep our tax dollars here in Neptune Beach. Our money should work for us, not in a neighboring city where we don’t benefit. Let’s make sure we aren’t overlooking opportunities to bring money to our city through grants and other sources of funding. Securing our future means setting our goals and achieving them, starting with securing our budget so we stabilize our infrastructure and feel confident that water will come out of the faucet when we need it, that our sinks and toilets will drain properly, and that we don’t have standing water in our neighborhoods.

Restore Our Infrastructure

In 2020, my neighborhood, Indian Woods, experienced several water main breaks in a short period of time. This woke me up to our crumbling infrastructure and the need for our city to catch up with replacing old water mains and sewer pipes. This work is expensive and labor intensive. This is where I believe my degree in Public Administration will come in handy. I studied public sector budgeting, planning theory and methods, public policy, environmental politics and policy, transportation and the city, decision theory and methods, leadership in organizations and state and local government. Let my education work for you. It will be my pleasure to give back to our community by serving as Mayor. I have the skillset it takes to look at the condition of our city, develop a comprehensive plan with our staff and make sure that plan is executed with the resources we have available to us. It’s going to be a challenge for our city to find the money to accomplish our goals, but I am up for the challenge.

Communication

Open communication will be the key to our city’s progress. Over the years, I have built relationships with many people, and I look forward to building more. My neighbors find me easy to talk to and you will too. I respect the input of others and am a team player. I have bachelor and juris doctor degrees that are valuable. They have given me a base of knowledge that I will use to help our city move forward. My parents, who were hard working innkeepers, taught me that real knowledge comes from real experience. I started working at the age of 14 as a dishwasher and have worked solidly over the last 34 years. Over the years I have gone from washing dishes to owning my own business. I will roll up my sleeves and go to work for this city. I have paid my dues and want to let my knowledge and experience work for Neptune Beach. I am running for Mayor because I love Neptune Beach and I want to preserve our city’s unique character. That will mean working closely with the people of this city through outreach events and town halls. Your voices are important.
