About Cori Bylund

“As your mayor, I will not only listen to you, but I will also stand up for you.”

Cori Bylund

Meet my family.

I moved to Neptune Beach in 2015, with my husband Dan, our sons, Daniel, Michael and Talon, and our dog, Pumpkin. We didn’t move far, in fact we lived on20th Avenue N., yes – just across the street. Over the years, our older boys went to college and moved out. For Dan and me, this is our forever home. My parents, moved in with us in 2019 creating a multigenerational haven. Our slice of paradise is under the shady oaks in Indian Woods, but you might see us walking Pumpkin over to the Kings Bridge to enjoy sunsets over the Intracoastal and sunrises over the marsh. We have enjoyed countless beach days surfing, boogie boarding, skimboarding and looking for shark teeth. Neptune Beach is more than a location; it’s the backdrop to our family’s shared adventures and cherished memories.

I will protect our beautiful city.

Hailing from the rural bay shore in Wisconsin, my upbringing mirrored the coastal beauty and recreational spirit we cherish here in our community. In pursuit of a legal career, I left that serene backdrop behind in 2002, relocating to Florida for law school. Since 2005, I have been dedicated to practicing family law in the same area where I began my journey. Starting as a law clerk at Zisser, Robison, Brown, Nowlis & Maciejewski in 2003, I spent 12 years handling complex and emotionally charged cases involving divorce, child custody, alimony, child support, and the equitable division of substantial assets like businesses and military retirement accounts. Families are the heartbeat of our world, and it has been my privilege to guide thousands through challenging times. For years, I volunteered my time to represent children in cases of abuse, abandonment, and neglect – experiences that were both difficult and profoundly rewarding. As mayor, I am committed to never losing sight of the impact city operations have on the children and families in our community. Early on, I voiced concerns about the Penman Road project at town hall meetings, specifically addressing the safety of our children navigating roundabouts. My own child bikes across Penman to and from Fletcher High School, a personal connection that fuels my dedication to the well-being of our children. As your mayor, I will remain steadfast in prioritizing the needs and safety of our community’s families.

Dedicated to Community

I have been an involved beaches resident since 2006. My husband, Dan, and I were brought together through our mutual love for volunteerism. Dan epitomizes dedication and community spirit through his unwavering commitment to volunteerism. For years, he has selflessly devoted countless hours to the Jacksonville Beach Volunteer Life Saving Corps, where he not only served as a past Captain but also contributed his expertise by teaching Emergency Medical Rescue (“EMR”). Week after week, Dan tirelessly works to ensure the safety of our beloved beaches, embodying the true spirit of service. Beyond his role as a dedicated volunteer, Dan has been an integral part of Johnson & Johnson for over 38 years, showcasing his commitment and reliability in his professional endeavors. As a father, he is a beacon of support and love for our children, and as my husband, he is an incredible life partner. Dan’s thoughtfulness extends beyond our home, making him a cherished neighbor in our tight-knit community. His multifaceted dedication enriches the lives of those around him, and I am grateful to share my journey with such an extraordinary individual.
